Eye plastic surgery is also known as oculoplastic surgery. it pertains to the area around the eye. The eyelids and surrounding areas are extremely delicate and complex structures that are vital to the preservation of sight and are important features of a normal facial appearance

Oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery is a reconstructive surgery is a highly specialized practice of oftalmology and plastic surgery that manages and treats deformities and abnormalities of the eyelids, lacrimal (tears)system, the oribit (bony cavity sorrounding the eye) and the adiacent facial structures.

Oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery includes the following treatments and conditions

  • Blepharoplasty - eye lift surgery to eliminate excess skin and bags
  • Ptosis repair - correction of drooping eyelids
  • Entropion repair - correction of eyelids that turn inwards
  • Ectropion repair - correction of eyelids that turn outwards
  • Eyelid retraction repair - correction of eyelids that are pulled away from the eye
  • Trichiasis correction - eyelashes that are directed towards the eyeball
  • Anatomical tearing problems (punctual stenosis, cannalicular obstruction, nasolacrimal duct obstruction)
  • Eyelid lesion removal/biopsy
  • Eyelid reconstruction following trauma or surgery

  • Blepharospasm-is a condition in which there is sustained, forced, involuntary closing of the eyelids.
